Dallas Association of Young Lawyers

As its name implies, Service to the Community committees are dedicated to serving the community. Through such initiatives as clothing drives for local shelters, a 5K run honoring our country and raising money for a good cause, programs serving our city’s homeless and disadvantaged citizens, and a fundraiser for the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program, Service to the Community committees can provide a way for DAYL members to make a difference in our city and beyond.

In conjunction with the Stew Pot, the Aid to the Homeless Committee this year will be sponsoring its bi–annual Community Court Project. The Community Court Project allows the homeless in Dallas and surrounding areas to work off Class “C” misdemeanor tickets by performing community service. The Committee plans to conduct the Community Court Project in the Spring and the Fall.
