The Dallas Association of Young Lawyers ("DAYL") Foundation was chartered by the State of Texas in June, 1988 to provide support for law-related matters.
The DAYL Foundation became a granting body in 1999 when it awarded four grants totaling $5,000. Since then, over $90,000 has been given by the Foundation to various charitable and educational programs sponsored by non-profit organizations in the Dallas area. The DAYL Foundation is primarly funded through its Fellows Program, which was created in 2002, and also through voluntary contributions made by members of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers.
Past recipients of DAYL Foundation grants include Christian Community Action, The Urban Justice Center, Sequoia, Inc., The Dallas Bar Foundation, Legal Services of North Texas, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the Dallas Legal Hospice, to list a few.
