Dallas Association of Young Lawyers
Freedom Run

The Freedom Run will be held on September 12, 2013.

On November 10, 2001, just eight weeks after the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers responded in unprecedented fashion by organizing and presenting the Freedom Run & Festival. The first Freedom Run & Festival brought together thousands of North Texans in a time of national crisis to raise funds for those in need. The Freedom Run & Festival continues to pay tribute to the heroes and victims of 9/11. We are also proud to recognize those public servants who risk their lives to protect our communities.

Originally founded and organized by the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Leadership Class of 2001, the Freedom Run & Festival Committee has grown to include volunteers from throughout North Texas. Thousands of volunteer hours, primarily by young lawyers in our community, are donated each year in order to make the Freedom Run & Festival happen. In addition to the volunteer hours, tens of thousands of dollars are donated annually by law firms and companies to support the event and its beneficiary.

The beneficiary of the Freedom Run & Festival is the Dallas Assist the Officer Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to helping Dallas police officers and their families in times of need. Over $200,000 has been donated to the Foundation during that time.

The Freedom Run & Festival and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers are proud to support the Assist the Officer Foundation and its mission.
