Jason Jobe is One to Watch
By Ken Riney

Jason Jobe, an associate in the professional liability practice group at Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, LLP, is the July 2008 DAYL “One to Watch.”

After settling into his practice, Jason had the desire to develop relationships within the profession and get more involved in the community.  Getting involved with DAYL has allowed him to accomplish both.  In an attempt to get more involved with DAYL, Jason began attending the monthly socials and other DAYL sponsored events.  At one monthly social, Jason spoke with a co-chair of the membership committee about the various DAYL committees to find one that interested him.  It was then that Jason decided to get involved with the Freedom Run.

Jason dove head first into the Freedom Run committee and was an integral part of the success of the 2007 Freedom Run.   Jason’s willingness to take on increased responsibilities and his determination to complete the various tasks at hand made it quite obvious that he was more than capable of serving in a larger capacity on the committee, even after only having served on the committee for one year.  As a result, Jason was appointed as one of the 2008 co-chairs of the Freedom Run committee.  Due to Jason’s leadership, the 2008 Freedom Run that will be held on the evening of September 11, 2008 at the Dallas City Hall Plaza is sure to be one of the most successful yet.

Jason’s increased involvement in DAYL by attending monthly socials and serving on a committee also exposed him to one of DAYL’s premier programs, the DAYL Leadership Class.  He applied for and was selected as a member of the 2007 Leadership Class, which introduced him to the civic, professional, business and charitable aspects of the community.  Jason was also instrumental in the success of the 2007 DAYL Leadership Class service project, the DAYLympics, which benefited the DISD Teacher Registry.

Jason obtained a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas in 2000 and his J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 2003.  He and his wife Michele, a second grade teacher in Plano, have a 14 month old son, Landry.  When Jason is not working or giving back to his profession and community, he is spending time with his family and friends, watching and playing sports and cheering on his mighty Razorbacks.  In fact, Jason is currently trying to teach Landry how to “call the hogs,” and if Jason is as successful with this task as he has been with his work in DAYL, there is no doubt we will soon hear young Landry crying “Woooooo, Pig! Sooie!”

Keep your eye on Jason Jobe because he truly is “One to Watch.”
