The DAYL has always shined as a bar association committed to service to the profession and the Dallas community. It is truly astounding how much time our members give each year to make a difference in the lives of others. And in 2009, the membership of the DAYL went above and beyond the already great work performed in previous years. Immediate Past President, Dena DeNooyer Stroh, had a passion and a vision for taking the DAYL to the next level, and there were more new projects in 2009 than in any prior year of DAYL’s history. This past month, the Texas Young Lawyers Association honored the DAYL for the projects and work performed under Dena’s leadership. I am very proud to report that the DAYL received the following Awards of Achievement:
(1) First Place – Comprehensive (this means we were recognized as the best affiliate young bar association in Texas);
(2) First Place – Service to the Bar, for the Lunch and Learn series;
(3) First Place – Newsletter, for The Dicta;
(4) Second Place – Minority, for the Diversity and Inclusion Forum; and
(5) Second Place – Service to the Public, for the Spanish Public Service Announcement project
