Dallas Ripple will bring together 40 high school students from various backgrounds throughout the city of Dallas with the idea of generating dialogue and educating the students about the racial issues citizens of different parts of the city face. The students will be exposed to various venues throughout the city (women’s shelters, police headquarters, law firms, schools, etc.) to gain a better understanding of the issues citizens face depending on their socio-economic and racial backgrounds. Dallas Ripple will culminate with the students organizing a class project to help bring about change to the unrest between police and racial minorities.
The committee will meet throughout the year. Email Cherie Harris or check the calendar for information on the next meeting or to get involved.
