July 2015 One to Watch
Helen Hutton is July’s One to Watch and is an all around kickball champion! Helen is a briefing attorney for Justice Douglas Lang of the 5th District Court of Appeals. In addition to her briefing duties, Helen is an instrumental player on Ballable Hours, a kickball team comprised of DAYL members. When her clerkship ends this September, she will join Cowles & Thompson, where she will be practicing trial and appellate law.
Helen grew up in the Houston area and is one of 6 children! She traveled north to St. Louis University to attend college and like all good Texans came back as soon as she could to attend law school at SMU. Helen has quickly thrown herself into DAYL and is an key leader on the DAYL Judicial Intern Committee. The Judicial Intern Committee has made a number of significant changes and increased its applicant pool in large part due to Helen’s involvement.
When Helen is not lawyering or kicking balls, you can find her with a fantasy or fiction novel. She’s an avid Game of Thrones fan (books and HBO series). And yes, she was devastated by the season finale…..
DAYL is very lucky to have Helen’s talents and we look forward to her continued involvement with the organization!
