The DAYL Attorneys Serving Troops Committee will partner with the DAYL Aid to the Homeless Committee to assist in the annual Homeless Veterans Stand Down on Friday, November 7—coincidentally, the Friday just before Veterans’ Day. It will be held at the VA Resource Center at 4900 South Lancaster Road, Dallas, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. They have asked our volunteers to commit to at least a half day during that time.
This is a very worthwhile event that provides much-needed services to the large population of ex-service members experiencing homelessness in North Texas. It provides them access to clothing, shoes, hygiene supplies, social service providers, health care services, and treatment programs. Volunteers will assist with setting up areas, distributing clothing and other materials, aiding participants in completing exit surveys, guiding veterans through the process, and other duties.
If you are able to volunteer for any length of time, please contact Chris Hodge.
