Thank you to all who sponsored, participated in, volunteered for, and donated to the 2021 Freedom Run held on Saturday, September 11, 2021! Your support for The Freedom Run year after year – whether by signing up to run or volunteer, donating your time, money, or products, sponsoring the event or creating a corporate team, bidding on items in our silent auction, or promoting The Freedom Run in your workplace, to your friends and family, and on social media – is what allows us us to put on this event and raise funds for the Assist the Officer Foundation each year, and we are tremendously grateful. A very special and well-deserved “thank you” goes out to The Freedom Run Committee, a team of hardworking and passionate individuals who worked tirelessly to plan and execute The Freedom Run and without whom this year’s event would not have been possible!

The Freedom Run has taken place every year since 2001 and with your support, we raised over $15,000 this year for the Assist the Officer Foundation, making our cumulative donation over the past 20 years more than $375,000!

During the 20th Anniversary event, we paid tribute to the heroes of 9/11 and recognized our local police officers and first responders with a moment of silence, a flyover, singing of the national anthem and God Bless America, displaying a 30-foot flag over the pedestrian bridge, honoring the families of officers and firefighters who were injured or killed on duty this year, and speeches from special guests such as Dallas County District Attorney, John Creuzot and Dallas Mayor Pro Tem, Chad West.

Over 350 runners, 50 volunteers, 25 corporate teams, and numerous vendors and generous sponsors in attendance. Thanks to the copious amount of in-kind donations we received for the event, we were not only able to feed and hydrate our attendees, but we were also able to donate our leftover food and beverages to local food pantries.

On February 8 , 2022, members of the Freedom Run Committee presented a check representing proceeds from the 2021 Freedom Run to the Assist the Officer Foundation. They, in turn, surprised us with a commemorative plaque recognizing our partnership over the past 20 years.
