Join DAYL’s Generation Generosity Committee on Saturday April 21, 2018, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, for a unique volunteer opportunity with Rotary Club of Dallas & Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children for their Bike Rodeo and Child Safety Day. The event strives to give children from around the Dallas Community the opportunity to learn about safety in a fun, family environment. Children have the opportunity to see the Dallas Police Department and CareFlite Helicopters land and participants interact with the flight crew, meet the official Dallas Fire Safety Robot and Dallas Police Department Bike Bot and take the “Safety Day Pledge.” Bike Rodeo safety course provides a safe environment for children to practice bicycle safety skills by riding on a course designed to simulate actual road conditions. The activities will help make children aware of bicycle safety issues and will teach parents the importance of ensuring that children always use safety equipment. Children will have their bikes inspected and have the chance to win a bike of their own. Every child is fitted and receives a complimentary bike helmet. If you are interested in helping out, email Cherie Harris. We’ll send additional information to all volunteers a couple of days before the event.
