Judges Making History
DAYL is excited to present its inaugural series of CLE webinars with judges who have made history. During these one-hour CLE programs, the judges will share their experiences on the bench as the first African-American judges to hold their specific judicial seats and offer advice to young lawyers to excel in the legal field and forge their own path. The judges will also offer advice and guidance to young lawyers on engaging in civic and pro bono service for their community and maintaining civility and discourse within the legal community and beyond.
On Tuesday, October 20, at noon, The Honorable Sam A. Lindsay, U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Texas, will share his experience on the bench as the first African-American judge to hold his judicial seat and offer advice to young lawyers to excel in the legal field and forge their own path.
Future speakers in this series are: The Honorable Carl Stewart, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit onĀ November 18, 2020 and The Honorable Carolyn Wright (Ret’d.), Chief Justice of the Fifth Court of Appeals in Dallas on December 3, 2020.
