DAYL is happy to announce that Anna Rupani has been named this month’s One to Watch! Anna is a Staff Attorney at Mosaic Family Services, mosaicservices.org (“Mosaic”), which provides wrap-around services to survivors of human rights abuses, specializing in refugees and immigrants in crisis.
In this capacity, Anna stands out among Mosaic’s select legal team. Mosaic’s Legal Services Department provides both immigration and family law services, making them uniquely capable of fighting for survivors of violent crime including domestic violence and human trafficking. Anna represents domestic violence and violent crime survivors in family law matters including divorces, annulments, suits affecting the parent child relationship, and protective orders.
Anna obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management and Minor in Studio Art Painting from Boston College, a Master of Social Work from Florida State University, and earned her JD from New England School of Law. During law school, Anna received numerous recognitions and awards including the New England School of Law Service Award, Judge Reginald C. Lindsay Public Service Law Book Award, and the CALI Award for Excellence in Immigration Law. After law school, Anna continued her commitment to public service by working with in the legal department for the Cambridge Public Schools.
Anna’s return to Dallas brought her closer to her family and back to her hometown. And, Dallas is better because of Anna. Since she returned to Dallas, Anna has been a tremendous asset to the legal community and the City on a whole. In addition to the tireless commitment she provides through her work with Mosaic, Anna is an outstanding leader among leaders for DAYL. Anna is a member of the incoming leadership class and has served as a Co-Chair of the Lawyers Against Domestic Violence Committee (“LADV”). Anna quickly emerged as a leader for LADV and helped to reenergize this group along with her stellar Co-Chairs. Anna organized a successful fundraiser with Kendra Scott that raised funds to rebuild a playground for the children residents of a domestic violence shelter and is currently planning a CLE for later this year.
Anna truly enjoys the network and many opportunities she has been afforded by DAYL and is excited to participate in this year’s leadership class. DAYL and Dallas, on the whole, are lucky to have Anna Rupani. DAYL is proud to name Anna Rupani as this month’s One to Watch.
