In the adversarial world of law, Ha-Vi’s passion and warmth shine through in any [court]room. Her dedication to the law and specifically her dedication to diversity in the law is the reason why Ha-Vi Nguyen is the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers’ One to Watch for March 2022.
Ha-Vi is a Longhorn through and through. She graduated with honors from The University of Texas with a degree in Economics and Government. While in undergrad, Ha-Vi was a Bill Archer Fellow, a competitive fellowship aimed at educating the next generation of leaders. As an Archer Fellow, Ha-Vi lived, attended classes, and interned at The Council on Foreign Relations in Washington, DC. Her time in Washington, DC, and Austin, Texas, led her to explore her passions by attending The University of Texas School of Law.
Although Ha-Vi did not travel far for law school, she made an impact on a large scale as a member of the Texas International Law Journal and a principal at Texas Venture Labs. In law school, Ha-Vi worked closely with local startup companies in Austin, getting hands-on experiences with real-world legal issues. She honed her passion for law and found her way to the DFW metroplex after graduating.
Ha-Vi first used her legal expertise in helping victims of Hurricane Harvey before joining Touchstone Bernays where she handled the defense of liability and defect cases. As a current Senior Associate at Frost Brown Todd, Ha-Vi now focuses on business litigation matters.
Ha-Vi provides the same level of care and passion in her legal career to her community. She was a member of DAYL’s 2020 Leadership Class, where she was paramount in the success of their class project DEAR (Dallas Eviction Assistance & Resources). She continues her bar involvement as a Co-Chair of DAYL’s Lawyers Promoting Diversity and spearheads efforts to engage and educate the Dallas legal community about the need for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the legal profession.
Ha-Vi met her husband, who is unfortunately an Ohio State Buckeyes’ alumni and fan, in Dallas. College football season is their household’s favorite time of the year. Ha-Vi is truly a shining star in DAYL and her contributions to the legal community are sure to be felt throughout the metroplex.
