Tiffany Talamantez, an associate at Sorrels, Udashen, & Anton, is this month’s One to Watch. Tiffany’s primary practice area is criminal defense. She is a trial and appellate attorney. Tiffany is a 2009 graduate of the University of Texas where she double majored in Government and American Studies. In 2013, she received her J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of law. During law school, Tiffany clerked for a Federal Magistrate Judge, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and the Tarrant and Collin County’s district attorney’s offices.
Just three years into her practice, Tiffany is a very accomplished criminal defense attorney. She has tried cases at the State and Federal level. In her first jury trial, Tiffany’s client received a “not guilty.” Tiffany’s successes have gone beyond the trial level. As an appellate attorney, she has had several opportunities to argue before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Following her first oral argument, Tiffany successfully overturned a district court ruling earning her client a significant sentence reduction.
Tiffany is active in DAYL and was a member of the 2014 Leadership Class. She also serves as a co-chair for the DAYL Equal Access to Justice Committee, which puts on the annual wine tasting event raising money for the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program. In addition to her involvement with DAYL, Tiffany is the current Vice President for the DBA criminal law section.
Tiffany’s dedication to the DAYL, her commitment to excellence in serving her clients, and her passion for service, are just a few reasons why Tiffany is this month’s One to Watch.
