Stinson LLP

by Elizabeth “BB” Sanford

Zachary A. Ford is the January 2024 DAYL One to Watch. He is an associate at Stinson LLP where he helps clients resolve litigation matters throughout various industries. Zach graduated from Texas A&M University School of Law, J.D., magna cum laude, in May 2019, where he served as an editor of Law Review, and Texas A&M University, B.S., Political Science, cum laude.

Prior to joining Stinson, Zach served as a felony trial prosecutor for the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office in Fort Worth, Texas where he evaluated, indicted, and tried felony cases. Zach also gained legal experience working as a law clerk for numerous courts including the Texas Attorney General’s Office, the Texas Second District Court of Appeals, and most recently for the Presiding Judge of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.

During his years as a prosecuting attorney, Zach represented the State of Texas prosecuting numerous family-violence, driving while intoxicated, and crimes against children cases. He developed and maintained strong relationships with law enforcement officials, judges, and defense attorneys, and exercised fair judgment by negotiating over 1,500 plea deals in the interest of justice. This prosecutorial experience afforded Zach the ability to counsel clients in navigating complex issues regarding white collar crimes and investigations, and government contracts and investigations.

Zach currently leads the DAYL Social Committee as a co-chair, tirelessly coordinating and planning as many socials as possible for young lawyers to mingle, network, and commiserate about their work/life balance (or lack thereof). Zach also serves in this year’s DAYL Leadership Class. The DAYL is sure this is only the beginning of Zach’s DAYL leadership and service.

Zach’s hobbies include playing in a Doubles Tennis league every Monday night, golfing (badly), reading science fiction and fantasy novels and presidential biographies, and he backpacked across Europe by himself for three months after graduating undergrad a semester early.

He is married to the lovely Katelyn Ford, and they are expecting their first child, Lilah Raine Ford, due April 2024. They have adorable cats and a Great Pyrenees that can’t wait to meet Lilah.

Congratulations, Zach, on all of your accomplishments!
