Anne “Annie” Dzurilla is an associate at The Pettit Law Firm, where she represents clients in complex real estate, business, and consumer disputes. Annie received her Juris Doctor from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law (cum laude) in 2020. There, Annie not only excelled academically, but also took on hours of “extra” work to better herself and those around her. In fact, Annie served as an Editor for the SMU International Law Review Association and as a research assistant to Professor Joanna Grossman, the Ellen K. Solender Endowed Chair in Women and the Law.
Since graduating, Annie has dedicated herself to serving as a zealous and effective advocate—both in and out of the courtroom. Indeed, Annie is commonly praised for her reputation as both a noted proponent of women’s rights, as well as a fierce and devoted litigator.
Within the DAYL, however, Annie is most well-known for her service as the Auction Chair for the DAYL Bolton Ball. In this role, Annie spends countless hours organizing and overseeing the exceedingly profitable auction arm of the Bolton Ball, which commonly earns more than $50,000 to support noteworthy charities/causes. She is also an active participant in several noteworthy professional organizations—including the William Mac Taylor Inn of Court and the Dallas Bar Association.
When asked about Annie, Nicole Muñoz Huschka was quick to describe her as a confident young lawyer whose poise, demeanor, and relentless work ethic shine far beyond her years in practice. These sentiments are echoed unanimously among Annie’s friends and colleagues.
Outside her legal work and community engagements, you will likely find Annie enjoying time with her dog, Zee Zee.
For these and so many other reasons, Annie is this month’s DAYL One to Watch. Congratulations, Annie!
