Darrian Campbell

Baker McKenzie

April 2018
by Megan LaDriere

Darrian is an associate at Baker McKenzie, where his practice covers a wide range, including intellectual property litigation, transactional matters, and matters involving privacy and marketing.  He completed his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at Baylor University.  Darrian also worked as an engineer in the electronics manufacturing field before attending law school at Indiana University.

Darrian joined DAYL in 2013, and quickly immersed himself in the organization by becoming a member of the DAYL 2015 Leadership Class.  Darrian and the rest of the DAYL 2015 Leadership Class organized Dallas Bridge Bash in the spring of 2016, which raised money for Communities in Schools.  When asked about his experience, Darrian reminisced: “I met a lot of wonderful people and made some great friends in the Leadership Class, and I did so while raising funds for a local organization that works to help kids who are at risk of falling behind in school catch up and excel in their school work.  I still get a good feeling when I think about how we were able to help that organization both financially and with our service.”

Since being in the Leadership Class, Darrian has continued his leadership as a co-chair on the Judiciary Committee.  He has been instrumental in planning committee events each year, one of his favorite events being Dinner with the Judiciary.  He enjoys having a casual meal with the judiciary and being able to discuss timely issues affecting the legal community. Darrian was also a part of the DAYL Awards Selection Committee for this year.

In addition to his involvement in DAYL, Darrian continues to serve his hometown of Dallas by joining a group of lawyers every week to tutor students at a local elementary school.  He also loves basketball and football, and despite his Dallas roots, congratulates the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles – GO EAGLES!  In his spare time, Darrian enjoys weightlifting, running, and gaming (embracing his inner nerd).

Congratulations, Darrian, on being DAYL’s One to Watch in April 2018!
