Gabby Shayeb is a civil litigation and insurance litigation trial attorney who graduated from Baylor Law School. At Baylor Law she excelled in several moot court and mock trial competitions as an advocate and brief writer through the Baylor Law School Advocacy Program. She went to Trinity University in San Antonio for a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Spanish. She has a strong love for San Antonio fiesta-culture and history and uses Spanish often to communicate with clients on legal matters.
Ms. Shayeb received the James P. Alexander Memorial Award in her third year of law school-awarded to a senior Baylor Law School student with an outstanding advocacy record in the renowned Baylor Law Practice Court.
Currently she is senior counsel at Martin, Disiere, Jefferson & Wisdom, LLP in Dallas, Texas, and has represented clients in a variety of litigated and pre-litigation matters, including matters in the areas of personal injury, insurance litigation, product liability, construction defect, insurance fraud, business torts, and wrongful death.
She is an ardent supporter of the 7th Amendment and, accordingly, thoroughly enjoys participating in all aspects of jury trial, whether in state or federal court.
Ms. Shayeb was a member of the 2020 Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Leadership Class, where she had the opportunity to work with other local attorneys to address the DFW housing/eviction crisis through the establishment of enduring legal and educational programs. From 2021-2022, she served as an Associate of the Patrick E. Higginbotham American Inn of Court; helping to organize and present a CLE for the Inn focusing on U.S. Supreme Court term legal updates in a trivia/game show format. Currently she serves as Co-Chair of the Social Committee for DAYL and is a member of the DAYL Environmental Law Committee. Ms. Shayeb believes that such programs foster connections between young lawyers to promote professionalism and collegiality and a sometimes harsh and adversarial legal profession.
Her hobbies include cooking, trivia/pub quizzes, staying engaged in local politics, traveling to west Texas (and other exotic locations) to spend time with her family, and exploring Dallas with her Pembroke Corgi, Wellington.
If you haven’t met Gabby, come to our next DAYL social and be as impressed with her as I am!
