Paul Budd is an associate at Meadows, Collier, Reed, Cousins, Crouch & Ungerman, L.L.P. He practices in the areas of Income Tax Litigation, income Tax and Business Planning, White Collar and Government Regulatory Litigation, Estate and Gift Tax Litigation, and State Tax Planning and Litigation. His practice includes all aspects of business tax planning, such as entity formation, restructure of ownership interests in entities, acquisitions, and dispositions. Paul graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law and obtained his L.L.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law. While in school, Paul received the CALI award in three of his classes: Mergers and Acquisitions, Intellectual Property, and Criminal Law. Additionally, he served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Judge Sally Pokorny of the Douglas County District Court in Lawrence, Kansas.
While Paul’s exceptional academic achievements are certainly impressive, Paul’s service to his community is equally noteworthy. In only his second year of practice, Paul has become deeply involved in the DAYL. He is an active member of the DAYL Judicial Internship Committee, an active member of the DAYL Law Student Assistance Committee, and a member of the selective DAYL Leadership Class for the year 2018. He is an adaptive leader in those groups, filling whatever holes need to be filled.
Paul’s early commitments to bar work embody his undeniable desire to serve others. He is always eager to roll up his sleeves and work for those he can help in his community. He is naturally giving of his time, volunteering loudly and often for any task. Those who spend time with Paul can’t help but laugh at his easy sense of humor that connects with everyone he meets. He is a wonderful and welcome addition to the DAYL family and the Dallas legal community, which is why he is this month’s Dallas Association of Young Lawyers “One to Watch.”
Congratulations, Paul!
