Rachael is an outspoken, dog-loving, Peloton-riding, balloon-animal-making, smart-as-a-whip lawyer. Originally from the Bay Area, she came to Dallas a few years ago, and has dived right into the community. She is active in DAYL’s Animal Welfare Committee. She has helped organize dog and cat food drives, adopt-a-thons, and events geared towards connecting pet owners with services they need for their pets, including low-cost vaccinations. Rachael regularly helps deliver pet food and toy drive proceeds to the Senior Source after the AWC’s annual Cans for Canines event each November. She and her husband Charlie have a Great Dane named Beau and a Black Labrador named Grace.
As an aunt to her baby nephew, Colton, Rachael has a special love for kids (but obviously Colton most of all). As a part of DAYL’s Lawyers Against Domestic Violence Committee, she recently helped with the committee’s “Ladies’ Night Out,” at The Family Place, a local shelter for victims of domestic violence. Rachael entertained residents’ children with balloon animals while their moms enjoyed getting their hair and make-up done. Rachael has also advocated for children as an attorney ad litem with Texas Lawyers for Children, and she has served as an educational advocate for special-needs children in the Texas foster system.
She is also quite the smarty pants. Rachael entered college at Long Beach State in California when she was only 16, going on to graduate from Pepperdine Law School. She then passed two of the hardest bar exams in the nation: Texas AND California! She currently works as an attorney on the General Counsel Support Team at Winston & Strawn. She has drafted, reviewed, and negotiated hundreds of contracts for public and private companies, including one of the world’s largest private equity firms. She is known for her talent for solving clients’ problems and for helping them reach their goals.
Rachael continues to do good in the Dallas community and for her clients, and we are lucky to have her! These are some of the biggest reasons Rachael is this month’s One to Watch!
