Stephen Huschka

Without question, Stephen Huschka is an up-and-coming young lawyer in Dallas who you will be hearing about in years to come. He is currently an associate at Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, where he devotes his practice to professional liability defense and commercial litigation.  Stephen currently represents companies, officers, directors, lawyers, and other professionals in breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, misappropriation of trade secrets, fraud, and corporate equity disputes. Before joining Thompson Coe, Stephen represented clients in commercial litigation and intellectual property matters at Cantey Hanger in Fort Worth, following his service as a Briefing Attorney to the Honorable Justice Mike Willson of the Eleventh Court of Appeals of Texas.

Prior to law practice, Stephen attended undergrad the University of Texas at Austin and law school at Texas A&M University School of Law, where he served as the Managing Editor of the Law Review. During law school, Stephen completed extensive internships in the Division of Enforcement and Trial Unit of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. Through these experiences, he developed a unique passion for securities and complex commercial litigation—and still applies the knowledge and skills he gained at the SEC to his practice today.

Getting Stephen to leave Fort Worth was not an easy task, but with persistence of his girlfriend, he has embraced Dallas as his new home. Since moving to Dallas, Stephen has already made a name for himself. Originating business, securing winning results for clients, briefing skillfully and advocating in the courtroom have quickly distinguished Stephen as a young professional at the firm. Outside the office, Stephen is committed to bar service, working on his golf game, and enjoying life as a new dog dad. This year, he co-led the DAYL Kickball Committee to playoffs and served as a critical member of the DAYL Finance Committee. Stephen was also chosen as a member of the 2018 DAYL Leadership Class.

Stephen has proven himself as an exceptional new leader in the Dallas legal community. On behalf of DAYL, we could not be happier to welcome him into our family.  This is why Stephen Huschka is this month’s “One to Watch.”  Congratulations, Stephen!
